Is Peak Worth It? Price, Free vs Pro and Verdict (2026)

Peak is worth it if you want a polished daily game workout and will use it most days. Its yearly plan costs €32 on the German App Store; the US store lists Pro at up to $34.99. The free version is basic and shows ads. Pro unlocks the full library of 40+ games. If privacy or learning techniques matter more to you, compare alternatives first.

How much does Peak cost in 2026?

Peak Pro costs €32 a year on the German App Store, and the US App Store lists Pro at up to $34.99, based on the listings we checked on 31 October 2026. The German store labels one plan "Peak PRO - Jahresplan" (yearly plan) at €32.00 and also lists Pro purchases at €34.99 and €37.99, without naming their period.

The monthly price is harder to pin down. The US listing shows Pro items at $3.99, $4.99, $11.99 and $34.99 without saying which period each covers. It also shows two discount offers: "40% Off Peak Pro Monthly" at $2.99 and "40% Off Peak Pro Yearly" at $19.99.

What you actually pay depends on your country and on which offer the app shows you. Check the paywall before you subscribe, and note that Peak's subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn them off at least 24 hours before the period ends.

What do you get on Peak for free?

You get a basic version of Peak for free, but Peak does not publish a feature-by-feature list of what that includes. Its App Store page says only that upgrading to Pro unlocks the "full brain training experience", and its website says Pro opens "the complete catalogue of more than 40 games and activities".

The App Store also lists Peak as containing advertising. So expect a limited set of games and some ads on the free tier. Two Advanced Training modules appear as free ($0.00) in-app items: Emotion Management, made with UCL, and Working Memory Part 1, made with Brainways.

What does Peak Pro add?

Peak Pro adds the full game catalogue, dozens of tailored workouts and performance analysis, according to peak.net. The App Store listing counts 45+ games across categories such as memory, attention, problem solving, mental agility, language, coordination and emotion control.

The App Store lists these training modes, without saying which are Pro-only:

  • Daily Workouts and The Total Workout
  • Coffee Break, for sessions under five minutes
  • Weakest Link and Low Rank
  • Coach, which adjusts your workouts and tracks progress

Peak also lets you compare your scores with people in your age range and profession, and compete with friends.

Where is Peak stronger than most brain apps?

Peak is stronger on track record, device support and social features. It holds a 4.7 rating from about 146,000 ratings on the US App Store. It runs on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple Vision, and it supports 14 languages.

Its Advanced Training modules were built with scientists, including teams from Cambridge and UCL. If you like comparing yourself to others, the age and profession benchmarks are a real feature that Omni Brain does not have.

Price is the other point in Peak's favour. At €32 a year in Germany, Peak's labelled yearly plan is cheaper than Omni Brain Premium at €39.99.

Where does Peak fall short?

Peak falls short on privacy, price clarity and teaching you anything you can use outside the app. Its App Store privacy label lists purchases, contact info, identifiers, usage data and diagnostics under "Data Used to Track You", and names third-party advertising among the purposes.

Price clarity is the second issue. Ten different in-app items appear on the US listing, several with the same name and different prices.

Third, Peak's listing and website describe games, workouts and stats. Neither advertises a named strategy you can apply to a phone number, a shopping list or a busy inbox. You get better at Peak's games, and working out how to use that elsewhere is left to you.

Does Peak brain training actually work?

Peak training reliably makes you better at Peak's games; whether it improves everyday thinking is still debated. Peak says it builds games based on research from Cambridge, Yale, UCL and King's College London. Research behind a game's design is different from evidence that the app improves your daily life.

This applies to every brain-training app, Omni Brain included. Gains inside a trained task are well documented. Transfer to untrained skills is weaker and contested. On our science page each Omni Brain game carries a label: A for games that train a direct skill, B for core processes where carry-over is limited or debated.

Who should choose Peak?

Choose Peak if you wear an Apple Watch, enjoy comparing scores with friends and peers, or want the cheaper yearly plan of the two. You also get an app with 146,000 ratings behind it, so its strengths and complaints are well documented.

Who should choose Omni Brain?

Choose Omni Brain if you want a free plan you can keep using without ads, or if you want each game to teach you a trick you can use in real life. Our positioning line sums it up: "Most brain games make you good at brain games. Ours teach you the trick."

The daily workout takes about 5 minutes: 3 games from different skills, with your weakest skill getting twice the turns of your strongest. Families get separate profiles and a kids mode without paying.

You can test a few of the games in your browser before you install anything. Try the Stroop test for attention, the dual n-back for working memory or the reaction time test for speed. The full set is on our free browser tests page.
